MACABRE MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS

Below are our top picks for the best Movie Soundtracks for Halloween.

Halloween - Probably no other music chills the Trick or Treat season like the music from the classic movie "Halloween." You can't hear this music without instantly thinking of this movie and it's maniacal killer Michael Meyers. Hats off to John Carpenter. The music on this CD is great background music for any haunted house, front yard cemetery or Halloween party.  Varese Sarabande
Halloween 2 - Just like the music in the first movie, the sound-track from "Halloween II" is just as creepy and makes great background music for any haunted house, front yard cemetery or Halloween party. Again, John Carpenter shows us that he definitely has the Right Stuff. This CD is a must for the collector of haunting music. Varese Sarabande
The Addams Family - Mood music to romance your Gomez or Morticia by. If you loved the movie, you'll love this as well. All the great soundtrack by Marc Shaiman. Complete with The Mamushka, this is soundtrack only, no music "made for" or "inspired by" crap. Sorry, but we didn't care for the Addams Rap much. This CD is nice mood music for a dark and windy night! Capital Records
Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Don't you just feel compelled to say it three times? If you like the ghost with the most, you'll love the soundtrack as well! You'll also find the Banana Boat Song and Jump In Line, the two songs by Harry Belafonte. We find ourselves doing the dance to Banana Boat every time! Great for a party or your listening pleasure! Geffen Records
The Nightmare Before Christmas -What could possibly be more romantic for Halloween then the story of Jack Skellington and Sally? Lively songs by Lock, Shock and Barrel and the  rest of the cast of Nightmare. Songs include This is Halloween, Jack's Lament, What's This?, Town Meeting Song, Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Making Christmas, Oogie Boogies Song, Sally's Song, and more. Walt Disney Records
Ravenous  - This gem of a film also had a very creepy, haunting soundtrack! Perfect to listen to while fixing that dinner for your Halloween party, this will get you in the mood to cook up something nice and unpleasant for your guests! spine tingling and moody, twangy and sinister, yet joyful at times, it fits all the moods of this outstanding film that got far too little recognition.

Very Scary Music - Classic Horror Themes - Not done by the original orchestras, this is a passable CD with music from The Exorcist, Halloween Main Title, The Twilight Zone, Psycho Suite, Theme From Poltergeist, Theme From Friday The 13th, Nightmare Before Christmas, Dracula Main Title, Theme From Jaws, Nightmare On Elm Street, Theme From The X-Files. Can be kind of "poppy" sounding but not bad! Delta
